A NOTE To My Readers...

Hi everyone

This is just a short note to advise that I have had to reduce the number of blogs that I have so that I can post to them on a more timely basis.

To that end I am closing my "Blackberry Kewl" blog along with a number of others as of now.

The good news is that I will be maintaining only four blogs that will hopefully focus a little more exactly on the topics that appear to be of interest to my web 2.0 readers, twitter followers and FaceBook friends.

Free Report is Going, Going

What a beautiful day to be alive. (note to self) Make sure that you enjoy every day.

Relax, take some slow deep breaths and thank your maker for another day of life! Spend some time with friends and family, walk, bike, run or whatever. Work a little (from anywhere) and enjoy a lot. (take time to smell the flowers)

Well that said, this post is to let you know that I have taken down the link to my free report "The Amazing Report". I think that I am about ready to move on to stage two of my Blackberry Kewl project. (more coming on that over the next few months) Thanks to everyone that has joined my list.

Unwired List Manager v1.3: I'll never forget another list at home again!!!

Forgive the over-punctuation of the title, but I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. As an avid list-maker, I've become addicted to jotting down reminders for myself on my Windows Mobile device. Now, Unwired Software has created the ultimate cross-platform list making software and I simply cannot put it down.

"Honey, where's our shopping list?" has been a question I've asked my wife far too many times. The answer always varies slightly, but includes responses like "I have no idea," "I thought you had it," and -the most common- "I think it's still on the refrigerator at home."

Now this will never happen again because an enterprising company has created a "pervasive" list. That is, this list is available everywhere because you can sync on an unlimited number of desktops and handheld devices. When I first heard of this software, I thought "Oh no, it will be impossible to set up!" I couldn't have been more wrong. The software never even asks you to configure it. All you do is set up the users you'd like to use each list. The software takes care of everything else.

I was away...

As the lead in says "I was away". Yep took a week to be with my family. Met many family members that I hadn't had contact with for many years. Met one new bride and one new addition. Unfortunately I lost an aunt on the Sat 26th. It was nice to be with the family in their time of grieving. The up side was that I got to say a personal goodbye to her on Fri 25th.

So family tome over I hope to be back here posting again and putting some time in building the page content on www.blackberrykewl.com/home.html.

Fifth Generation Work - Virtual Organization

Hi Team

This blog post is a little more personal. I guess the reason is that I have been a part of a virtual team for the past month or two. There are to date about five members (both male and female) and our group objective is to learn and apply effective internet website building techniques while at the same time explore the marketing and sales side of the internet.

As a virtual team we draw on each others strengths and support each others weakneses. While all together we are learning about this very interesting and at times challanging world of Fifth Gen work. (Virtual Organization)

I will try to post to my blog interesting tidbits from time to time that we learn to deal with as a virtual team.

For example we are using Skype for our conference calls and one member of the group has been repetedly been getting dropped from the call.

So we have decided to explore other options. We shall see how the exploration process goes and I will update in a future post.

RUDY MAXA: I write a lot, so I travel with a laptop. I carry a digital camera and a noise-canceling headset. And a Skype phone that lets me make nearly free calls anywhere in the world I can grab a high-speed connection. And I even broke down recently and bought a Blackberry.

Here is an interesting blog post that I came across. It's about an Oxygen Network survey

that surveys what women want...Who Knew!

An Oxygen Network survey released Tuesday found that more than three out of four women said they'd choose the TV over a diamond solitaire necklace. Women preferred a top-of-the-line cellphone to designer shoes by a similar margin. And a little white iPod narrowly trumped a little black dress.

Hi team

I found a very kewl review of the BlackBerry 7130e on the Laptop Magazine website.

It was written by Tim Kridel and posted on March 20th 2006.

BlackBerry remains the brand tobeat for wireless e-mail, but one of RIM's weaknesses in the past year has been the lack of a model running EV-DO. That's finally changed with the 7130e from Verizon Wireless. For RIM, it doesn't come a moment too soon; with the EV-DO-powered Treo 700w on the market and Motorola Q waiting in the wings, the competition keeps getting tougher.

It's Worth the Time!

If you havn't heard of Rich Schefren than you have just not been on the net lately.

I like his style. His byline on his blog is "More Money, More Business, More Time Off."

Now that sounds like a good thing right? Well when I asked some friends the other night if they had watched his video. They replied we don't have the time to spend watching a 90 minute video.

Well may I suggest that Rich's principals are textbook and they draw on the power of todays technology to produce the desired result.

Or in other words this is a GOOD THING and WORTH THE TIME!

So I am giving you a link to Richs' Blog so that you will have all of his little gems all in one place.

If you want to sign up for his training program that is entirely up to you. You would be in some very highly estemed internet guru company like Jim Edwards, IF you could get in that is.

Rich has been giving out lots of free nuggets in his Manifesto, the Missing Chapter, his 90 minute video and his 60 minute conference call recording.

The best part is that it is ALL available from his blog AND you can join his list of subscribers from the blog as well. Oh yes also read the many comments to Richs' posts by his readers, they are also WORTH THE TIME!

I just watched the MSNBC Nightly News for Monday the 24th of July 2006, I thought this segment was interesting and that you might like to watch it.

• Assisted living goes high tech
July 24: NBC's Jennifer London takes a look at the latest in assisted living -- gadgets that allow boomers to keep an eye on their parents even though they're miles, and in some cases, time zones away.

Also the site asked me to complete a survey on the quality and speed of their videos. They also asked how important it was to be able to blog their videos.

As I hadn't tried this before and since they asked...Here goes

Have you ever wondered what the stats on guy-gal usage is with these wonderful dare I say toys?

Well Victoria Ahearn of the Canadian Press published this interesting article today,

When it comes to high-tech gadgets, there's a definite gender gap.

A report last month from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission suggested three per cent of Canadians used the BlackBerry e-mail device in 2005 — and 75 per cent of them were males.

Is Blackberry the better option?

I just came accross this great fresh article about what is happening with other smart phone makers.

Although RIM (Research In Motion) and NTP have kissed and made up over the patent infringement lawsuit that threatened to bring wireless email to a grinding halt on RIM’s entire BlackBerry network in the United States last year, organizations continue to purchase alternative smartphones from other vendors such as Palm, Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, and UTStarcom.
