The Nobel Peace Prize 2006
Hi Team
Micro lending has been recognized.... This is wonderful news! After my being involved in not for profit lending and community economic development lending to small and home based business startups for over twenty years I think that this is great news.
I have provided a banner link to the "Grameen Foundation USA " in the Right margin....Go ahead and click through.
Then watch the 16 minute video on the home page. (This is all about enpowerment!)
Maybe you might even consider becoming involved in enpowering millions of people....Go, Watch, think about how this may apply in YOUR life.
Before you go, click the link below to hear the interview with Mr. Muhammad Yunus....Thanks
"for their efforts to create economic and social development from below"
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2006, divided into two equal parts, to Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank for their efforts to create economic and social development from below. Lasting peace can not be achieved unless large population groups find ways in which to break out of poverty. Micro-credit is one such means. Development from below also serves to advance democracy and human rights.
