Are You Prepared?

Hi Team

Well are you?......Prepared for disaster that is. Well Phil and Jason Montero of The Anywhere Office hosted a telaseminar on Tuesday night on that very subject.

Every year at this time Florida businesses are reminded of the need for continuity planning and disaster preparedness when hurricane season arrives. We've been lucky so far as no major storms have come our way . . . but the best time to respond to any disaster is before it happens.
There is a wise African proverb that says, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is today.” A relatively small investment of time and money now may prevent severe damage and disruption of your life and business in the future.

Of course, business disruptions are not limited to hurricanes and other natural disasters. Transit strikes, complex roadway projects, and large city-wide events have all demonstrated the ability to interrupt the smooth flow of business - not to mention personal, individual emergencies that can happen from time to time.

Ask yourself: Is your office prepared to conduct business as usual in response to any disruption? It can be!

Our panel of South Florida experts discuss best practices, strategies, and tools to help ensure your business can weather any storm or business interruption.

So if you would like to listen to the presentation and read the handouts then.

My Virtual Work Life.....Ahhhhh!

Hi Team

I have just found a very kewl article on the Monster site.

"Resources for Working from Home"........ by Pat Boer.......

Once a working mother's dream, the virtual office -- working from home or owning your own business -- is today's reality for working men and women. Many companies also incorporate flexibility into their culture, encouraging work at home arrangements for cost effectiveness. Examples of flexible positions include medical billing, transcription and coding, as well as positions for people in sales, claims, technical writing and consulting. If you've been thinking about flexible work arrangements, here are resources and sites to review as you begin to make your plans:

BlackBerry Connection Special Edition

Hi Team

BlackBerry.com has just released a Special Edition of their BlackBerry Connection newsletter.

Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal describes it as "the smallest smart phone from any maker with a keyboard" and "a beautiful piece of work". Bruce Myerson of Associated Press calls it, "Light and Lovely." Paul Taylor of Financial Times says, "In terms of ‘wow’, the Pearl is tough to beat." And David Pogue of the New York Times calls it "a new sweet-spot champion, a do-everything phone that comes closer to the bull’s-eye than anything before it."

And these are just some of the rave reviews!
